Electrified sailors

Is there anybody out there living on and cruising with an electric auxillary engine or hybrid electric/diesel gas generator rig?If so, what is the biggest challange?If not has anybody considered it?I am currently rebuilding a 30' yawl which was previously powered by a 10hp Sabb diesel single cylinder that may have been used on the African Queen. Hello everyone and Happy NEW YEAR...Got through the Harvey locks today after having a hang up. Got held up in the west lock waiting for River traffic to get by then the lift in of a west bound tug. Finally got in and crossed then, The Mississippi....WOW WHAT A RIDE....My speed of five knots plus the river current I was flying at 14 knot. Happy New Year to all  from the Florida Gypsy Soul anchored aboard the s/v Red Clipper 15 miles from N.O.    Will do Harvey locks tomorrow and pass through  to the east side of NO.

Had a great day to day  made 42 miles with daylight to spare,  Will update blog with pictures as soon as I can.  Most Likely In Gulfport Mississippi.
